 Friday is here and that means it is library day. I love books and look forward to my reading time on the weekends. Curling up with a good book, getting lost in the setting, falling in love with the characters and living through them for just a little while is a wonderful way to spend a weekend. I am also a big believer in that you have to be an avid reader to be a good writer. You can learn so much from other writers - from storytelling ability to bringing a scene to life and making it jump from the pages. Many times, I end up reading the same book twice. The first time is for enjoyment - and if I really did enjoy it, I read it again to analyze exactly what made it so. The best part of a good book is that it inspires me to do better. To tell a better story, create believable and lovable characters and to persevere until the entire story is told. So, read a book this weekend. And if it's a good one, make sure you pass it on! |
